Teaching Approach

Learning a language is an admirable pursuit, whose rewards are many, but it is also an investment of time and money. A one-size-fits-all, take-it-or-leave-it program that marches along whether the students are successful or not does not respect learners or their investment of time and money.

At Savoir Faire, we offer a dynamic core program that our teachers personalize to address individual needs. In a typical class, a student might role-play purchasing a train ticket, play a board game to review vocabulary, discuss a television show with a partner, listen to an exchange between native speakers arguing over a parking space, and give directions for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Grammar is taught to facilitate these activities, while respecting that grammar structures tend to be acquired in a particular order. Our teachers are native speakers and professionals who are familiar with current teaching theory and its practice.
